The very first MUD. The progenitor of progenitors. This was the one that started a revolution that would sweep across the internet, and never leave it quite the same again. It was often referred to as Essex MUD. Even a staggering forty years later, this MUD is still running and being played.

MUD was followed by its successor MUD2, which is also still running a server, and you can find more information at the MUD2 website.
